No, I didn't spend a year in Oman. Although I did spend a long weekend there and visited the Wabi Shab as suggested by Matthew Heines in his book 'My Year in Oman'. I read this book before heading to the Middle East as it was given to me by a good friend of Matthew's back in Sequim, WA. It is a must read for anyone planning to spend time there and especially if you will be teaching.
